Woodland T&F boasts multiple region champs

The Woodland and Cass High track and field teams competed in the 2019 Region 7-AAAAA championship meet Thursday at Barron Stadium in Rome with the Woodland teams coming away with four girls and three boys region champions. 

 Woodland’s McKenna Trapheagen won the 1600 and 3200, while Grace Webb won the girls’ high jump, and the Lady Wildcats’ 4×800 relay team of Marlee Bowles, Erica Boatner, Makenzie Stephenson and Molly Williams won their event.

Overall, the Woodland girls placed third with 103 points.

 Rome won the girls’ region title with 163 points. The Carrollton girls were second with 143. Cass placed ninth.

 In the boys races, Woodland’s John Shropshire took gold in both the 800 and 1600. Jeven Reliford also won the 400.
