The Woodland High volleyball team won a pair of matches Thursday, beating Rockmart 25-15, 25-8, before pulling out a close three-setter against East Paulding by scores of 25-22, 27-29 and 20-18.
“We played with really good effort the entire night, and had to battle through some periods against East Paulding where they pushed us really hard, as they were motivated because it was their senior night,” Woodland head coach David Condon said. “But we found a way to win in the end.”
Sydney Molinaro had 15 kills, 14 assists, nine digs and five aces over the course of the two matches; Emily Cigainero had five kills, 10 digs and three aces; Grace Webb had nine blocks, seven digs, eight aces and four kills; Caroline Gore had 11 kills, six digs and nine aces; and Lauren Morris had 12 assists, 13 digs, four kills and two aces.
With the two wins, Woodland improves to 17-14 on the year and will be back in action Thursday at Model.
